Knife assault leads to Ontario arrest

Deputies arrested a man Sunday night after a disturbance in the Town of Ontario left another person injured.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the incident around 9:34 p.m. and determined that a person had been cut with a knife during the disturbance.

Authorities later identified the suspect as Charles E. Mceneany, 41, of State Route 104 in the Town of Ontario. Deputies allege that Mceneany cut another individual with a knife, causing minor lacerations to the victim’s hand.

Mceneany was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies took him into custody and transported him to the Wayne County Jail, where he was held pending centralized arraignment scheduled for the following morning.

Deputy P. Bruton and Deputy J. Remis investigated the incident.
