Geneva firefighters honored as department shares busy 2025 stats

Decades of service and lifesaving work took center stage at a citywide ceremony, according to The Finger Lakes Times. The Geneva Fire Department honored members Tuesday night for leadership, commitment, and outstanding performance.

Chief Del Parrotta presented top awards to Frank McGuigan, Thomas Benjamin, and longtime fire commissioner Don McGuigan. Legacy Awards also recognized current and past leaders, including a posthumous honor for Ken Fulton, who logged more than five decades of service.

The department also released its 2025 numbers, reporting 2,547 total calls, zero fire-related deaths, three cardiac arrest saves, and 10 overdose reversals, underscoring another year of heavy demand and strong outcomes.
