DWI arrest follows theft complaint in Tyre

Deputies arrested a driver early Saturday after responding to a theft complaint at a local business in the Town of Tyre.

The arrest involved Shanie Henhawk, 24, of Perrysburg, who Seneca County sheriff’s deputies charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a felony.

Sheriff Timothy Thompson said deputies responded to a report that Henhawk attempted to steal an alcoholic beverage from a business around 1:40 a.m. Deputies later observed Henhawk operating a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

After an investigation, deputies determined Henhawk was intoxicated and recorded a blood alcohol content of .13%. Authorities also found that Henhawk’s driver’s license was already revoked from a prior driving while ability impaired charge.

That revocation led to the felony aggravated unlicensed operation charge, according to the sheriff’s office.

The arrest was handled by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office. Henhawk will answer the charges at a later date.
