Police arrested a Bath man after investigating a late-night wallet theft on Howell Street.
Village of Bath police arrested Warren S. Hoffman, 61, of Bath, following an investigation into a reported stolen wallet. Officers were dispatched to the residence at about 12:22 a.m. on Jan. 20.
According to police, the incident occurred the night before, around 10:30 p.m. Investigators said a known male trespassed onto the property, lifted an unlocked window, and removed the victim’s wallet.
Officers later located Hoffman and took him into custody.
Police charged Hoffman with criminal trespass in the second degree and petit larceny, both class A misdemeanors.
Authorities said Hoffman was processed and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Bath Village Court at a later date.
