Phelps launches first Frozen Fest

Phelps is leaning into winter with its first-ever Phelps Frozen Fest, a two-day community celebration set for Feb. 6–7.

Local organizers say the new festival aims to bring people together and support village businesses during a slower winter stretch. The effort follows the success of the Phelps Frozen Ball on New Year’s Eve, which drew more than 200 people and benefited the Phelps Community Center.

Most Frozen Fest activities take place Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Organizers say families can enjoy free attractions like novelty train rides, a nostalgic ice skating rink in Redfield Park, and a full slate of vendors, games, and music.

The festival also includes ticketed experiences. The new Phelps Igloo Experience runs Feb. 6 and 7 with limited bookings available. Guests can reserve private igloos designed for families or adults-only date nights, featuring curated food, drinks, and themed activities.

Saturday night brings back a familiar favorite. The Sweetheart Sip N’ Stroll returns with wine, beer, and spirits sampling through historic Phelps. Tickets include samples at each stop, snacks, and a signature event glass.

Event organizers say Frozen Fest shows how a small town can embrace winter with creativity while giving residents and visitors more reasons to explore local businesses.
