Deputies arrested a Waterloo man earlier this month after investigators determined he failed to report a change of address as required by the state sex offender registry.
Officers arrested Stephen R. Kennedy, 36, on Jan. 14 on an arrest warrant charging him with failing to register a change of address, a felony under New York State Corrections Law.
The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says deputies learned Dec. 6 that Kennedy was no longer living at his registered address. Investigators later determined he had moved in October without updating his address with the New York State Sex Offender Registry.
An arrest warrant was issued, and Kennedy was taken into custody by Seneca Falls police before being turned over to Cayuga County deputies.
Kennedy was processed at the Cayuga County Public Safety Building and arraigned in CAP Court. He is being held at the Cayuga County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
