Firefighters from multiple departments battled a second-alarm house fire on East Loop Road after crews were dispatched to Montezuma for a reported structure fire, according to Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire.
Departments from Montezuma, Cayuga, Clyde, Seneca Falls, Owasco, Port Byron, Jordan, Throop, Savannah, Union Springs, and Aurelius responded to the scene, along with Jordan Ambulance.
Initial crews arrived and began interior operations as additional units were called in to support the growing response. Tankers were requested to supply water, and mutual aid departments moved to cover empty stations as crews committed to the fire.

As conditions changed, command ordered all firefighters out of the structure. Auburn’s ladder truck set up and began flowing water from the exterior while hand lines were shut down.
Fire Wire updates show multiple tankers and engines cycling through the scene and staging areas, with departments repositioned to maintain coverage across the region during the incident.
Officials have not released details on injuries or damage. The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
