Cornell found the net early and often, getting goals from Grace Dwyer, Delaney Fleming, Piper Grober twice, Georgia Schiff and Alyssa Regalado. Dwyer led all players with four points, finishing with one goal and three assists. Schiff added three assists, while Beatrice Perron-Roy contributed two helpers as the Big Red spread production throughout the lineup.

The opening period was tightly contested, with both teams generating chances but unable to capitalize on the power play. Princeton struck first early in the second period on a woman-up opportunity, but Cornell quickly responded. Dwyer tied the game following a successful penalty kill, and moments later Fleming redirected a shot on the power play to give the Big Red the lead. Grober added another goal less than two minutes later to make it 3–1 heading into the third.
