Police arrested a man after responding to a reported burglary in progress at an Auburn apartment complex.
Auburn police officers were dispatched around 12:45 p.m. Jan. 21 to an apartment on Olympia Avenue in Brogan Manor after receiving a report that a man was attempting to force entry through a front door.
Officers identified the suspect as Darrick J. Telvock of Scipio. Police say Telvock fled when officers arrived but was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
Investigators allege Telvock attempted to break into the residence and caused damage to the front door. Officers determined the incident involved a family offense.
Telvock was charged with aggravated family offense, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration.
Police transported Telvock to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment. The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office recommended he be held without bail due to his probation status and the new felony charge.
