Farmington man charged after investigation into vape sales to minors

Tips about suspected drug sales in a Farmbrook Subdivision neighborhood led investigators to a case involving vape products sold to teenagers, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the investigation began in the fall after the sheriff’s office received multiple tips through a drug tip hotline, along with complaints about underage sales of vaping products in the Farmington and Victor area.

Investigators later identified Raymond D. Nguyen, 20, of Farmington, as the suspect in the case. A search warrant executed Jan. 20 at a Bean Pole Circle residence found evidence that Nguyen was selling THC and THC vape products to early teens, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies recovered vape products and about $14,000 in cash during the search. Authorities said the transactions were arranged and paid for online, with the defendant then delivering the products directly to the teenagers’ residence.

As a result of the investigation, Nguyen was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He was released on an appearance ticket and is expected to answer the charge in Victor Town Court at a later date.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case with assistance from the Canandaigua Police Department. Officials asked parents who discover similar transactions to contact their school’s school resource officer.
