Helming launches re-election campaign

State Sen. Pam Helming kicked off her re-election campaign Sunday with a message focused on affordability, opportunity, and results for Upstate New York.

Speaking to supporters in Macedon, Helming framed the campaign around a simple question: Is life getting better and more affordable for the people who live here?

“You sent me to Albany to be your voice and I’m delivering for you,” Helming said. “Opportunity means jobs that stay local. Affordability means fighting costs that hit families and seniors the hardest. Results mean showing up, doing the work, and bringing real solutions back home.”

Helming said her work in the Senate has focused on bringing Upstate communities their fair share of funding for healthcare, education, and critical infrastructure. She has also pushed back against policies she says drive up taxes, fees, and utility costs.

Her priorities have included seniors on fixed incomes, veterans, first responders, family farms, and small businesses dealing with rising expenses and state mandates.

Public safety also remains a central theme of her platform. Helming has consistently supported law enforcement and first responders while backing policies aimed at protecting communities and preserving local control.

The campaign launch drew a large crowd of community members and local leaders, including Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman.

Ontario County Republican Committee Chair and Finger Lakes Regional Chair Trisha Turner praised Helming’s record.

“Senator Pam Helming has earned the trust of our community through hard work, accessibility, and results,” Turner said. “She has delivered for local taxpayers, supported our farmers and small businesses, and stood firm against Albany overreach. Senator Pam Helming has been a strong and consistent voice for Upstate New York. I am proud to endorse her to continue to represent Ontario County.”

Wayne County Republican Committee Chair Amy Schreiber also announced her support.

“Senator Helming continues to deliver real results for the people of Wayne County, and I am proud to endorse her re-election campaign,” Schreiber said. “As a proven advocate for farmers, local schools, small businesses, and our communities, she is exactly the kind of leader we need fighting for us at home and in Albany.”

Livingston County Republican Committee Chair and Assemblywoman Andrea Bailey called Helming a steady voice for the region.

“Pam has been a steadfast advocate for the 54th Senate District and for the people of Livingston County,” Bailey said. “She brings the concerns of everyday upstate New Yorkers to Albany and ensures our voices are heard on the Senate floor. It is an honor to support Senator Pam Helming in her reelection and to stand with her as she continues fighting for our communities.”

Monroe County Republican Committee Chair Peter Elder pointed to Helming’s approach to government and economic issues.

“Senator Helming has been a staunch advocate for her constituents and continues to fight for hardworking families in her District,” Elder said. “Pam puts people first, not politics, and she stands firmly on the principles that smaller government creates bigger opportunities for New Yorkers to start businesses, build homes, and achieve their dreams.”

The 54th Senate District includes Ontario, Livingston, and Wayne counties, along with the Monroe County towns of Chili, Mendon, Riga, Rush, and Wheatland.
