Police arrested a man after deputies responded to a reported theft at a Victor liquor store.
Deputies identified the suspect as Abdi A. Abdi, 26, of Rochester. Investigators say the incident happened around 4:48 p.m. Jan. 17 at Victor Wine and Spirits on Commerce Drive.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to the store after a report that a man had stolen liquor. During the reported theft, a physical altercation broke out between the suspect and an employee.
Deputies later located a suspect vehicle in the area of State Route 96 and High Street. Abdi, who was identified as the driver, was taken into custody at that location.
Authorities charged Abdi with robbery in the third degree. Deputies transported him to the Ontario County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment, the sheriff’s office said.
