A two-car crash shut down a busy Lodi intersection New Year’s morning and sent one driver to the hospital.
Deputies responded around 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 1 to the intersection of Main Street and West Seneca Street after reports of a crash blocking traffic.
Investigators said a car traveling west on State Route 96A slid through a stop sign and struck another vehicle heading north on State Route 414.
The westbound vehicle was driven by Zhyana I. Masker, 23, of Ithaca. The other vehicle was driven by Mary Reed, 73, of Romulus.
Reed received treatment at the scene from South Seneca Ambulance crews. Paramedics then transported her to Geneva General Hospital.
Deputies issued Masker tickets for no insurance, no inspection, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree.
While handling the crash, deputies discovered Masker had an active arrest warrant from Cortland City Police.
Deputies transported her to Cortland and turned her over to Cortland police to answer those charges.
