Penn Yan man arrested after alleged trespass

Police arrested a Penn Yan man after responding to a reported domestic disturbance involving an alleged unlawful entry into an apartment.

Penn Yan Police said officers arrested Jedediah C. Collette, 23, on Jan. 10 following an investigation into an incident that occurred during the night at a village residence.

Police allege Collette entered another resident’s apartment through a window after being told to stay away. Authorities said the victim and a child under the age of 17 were inside the apartment at the time.

Officers located Collette in the area, and police said he admitted to entering the apartment through the window.

Collette was taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal trespass and endangering the welfare of a child. He was transported to the Yates County Jail to await CAP arraignment for the purpose of obtaining orders of protection.
