Deer head thrown at protest

A passing pickup truck driver tossed a decapitated deer head toward a small protest in LaFayette, prompting a sheriff’s investigation, according to WSYR-TV.

About 10 people gathered Saturday morning near Routes 11 and 20 by the LaFayette Post Office. The group protested national political issues when the driver allegedly passed once, turned around, and threw the deer head on a second pass.

Deputies said no one was hit, but the object landed close to the protesters. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating and hasn’t determined whether charges will be filed.
