Another week of high school basketball wrapped up Saturday, highlighted by a marquee non-league matchup between Lyons and Honeoye at Finger Lakes Community College.
The teams were evenly matched early, finishing the first quarter tied at 17 before the Lions carried a narrow 34-33 lead into halftime. Lyons took control in the third quarter, converting Bulldogs turnovers into points while holding Honeoye to just seven in the period. That 14-7 surge gave the Lions a 48-40 advantage heading into the final quarter. Honeoye fought back, trimming the deficit to three in the closing minutes, but Lyons responded down the stretch to secure an eight-point victory, handing the Bulldogs their first loss of the season.
