Fire crews quickly knocked down a house fire Friday morning on Havens Avenue.
The Auburn Fire Department responded around 9:37 a.m. to a report of a house on fire at 7 Havens Ave. while two engine companies were already handling medical calls elsewhere in the city.
Firefighters arrived within three minutes and found smoke and flames coming from the front left exterior of a two-story duplex. Crews deployed hose lines and removed exterior siding to access the fire, allowing them to extinguish it.
Two interior rooms suffered smoke and water damage, according to the fire department. One family was displaced by the fire.
An additional engine and truck company were called in to cover the city while crews worked at the scene. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Auburn Police Department, Auburn City Ambulance, NYSEG, and Auburn Code Enforcement assisted at the scene.
