Latasha Mott, accused of killing her 5-year-old daughter Neffy Harris, rejected a plea deal and will head to trial later this month, according to Syracuse.com.
Prosecutors say Mott beat Neffy to death in a shower in 2024, then buried her in a wooded area with help from her boyfriend. Two of Mott’s children, including a teenage daughter and a son who was 10 at the time, are expected to testify against her.
The boy may recount threats Mott allegedly made to his life just months before Neffy’s death. Trial begins January 20.
