A former Broome County deputy executive is accused of sexually assaulting a subordinate over five years, according to WBNG. The civil complaint, filed in Broome County Supreme Court, claims John Bernardo harassed and assaulted Brandy Jackson while they worked at the SEPP Group.
Jackson says the abuse escalated from inappropriate comments to physical assault, including a 2025 incident where Bernardo allegedly forced her to touch him. She also claims he withheld reimbursements when she rejected him.
The lawsuit includes audio recordings Jackson says back up her claims. She resigned in 2025 and is seeking millions in damages. Bernardo’s legal team hasn’t responded publicly.
