Woman arrested after repeat thefts in Junius

Deputies arrested a woman after store employees recognized her during a return visit to the same businesses she allegedly stole from days earlier.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested a 20-year-old woman from Syracuse on Jan. 2 on two counts of petit larceny. Sheriff Tim Thompson identified the suspect as Julianna Latray.

The charges stem from thefts reported at two local businesses in the Town of Junius on Dec. 28. According to the sheriff’s office, Latray returned to both stores the following week.

Employees recognized her from the earlier incidents and called 911.

Deputies took Latray into custody and transported her to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center. Authorities processed her and released her on appearance tickets.

The case numbers associated with the arrest are 25SH24270 and 26SH00110.
