Ovid library honors aide’s decade of service

A longtime library aide will take the spotlight later this month as the Edith B. Ford Memorial Library celebrates a decade of service from a beloved staff member.

The library will honor Ryan Lindstedt on Jan. 21 at noon with a community celebration marking his 10 years of work at the Ovid library. The event will include a certificate presentation, followed by free pizza and cake in the library’s teen room.

Library Board President Jean Currie will present Lindstedt with a certificate of appreciation during the event. Library officials said the celebration is open to the public.

Ryan Lindstedt has worked at the Edith B. Ford Memorial Library since 2015, following two years as a volunteer. He connected with the library through Mozaic, an Arc New York chapter that supports individuals with diverse abilities in finding long-term employment.

Library Director Andrea Tillinghast said Lindstedt brings a unique sense of joy and dedication to his work. She said the library would not be the same without him.

Lindstedt said working at the library fits his interests, especially history and science. In 2018, he received the Arc Community Partnership Award for his commitment to employment and community service.

After ten years, Lindstedt said he’s excited about what’s ahead, including continuing to build new skills at the library.

The Edith B. Ford Memorial Library is located at 7169 North Main Street in Ovid.
