Deputies arrested a Geneva man after responding to a 911 call from an emergency phone in a Town of Canandaigua community early Tuesday morning.
Rodolfo Jiminez-Tema, 33, of County Road 6 in Geneva, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including aggravated sexual abuse in the third degree and robbery in the second degree.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, a female victim used a community emergency phone to call 911. First responders located her at the phone with visible injuries.
Investigators allege that during the incident, Jiminez-Tema used physical force to attack the victim and stole her phone as she attempted to call for help. Deputies said he also used physical force to sexually assault the victim, stole her property, and fled the area.
With assistance from the Geneva Police Department, deputies located Jiminez-Tema at his residence, where they apprehended him. Authorities transported him to the Ontario County Jail for centralized arraignment.
The victim received treatment at a nearby hospital for her injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. The case remains under investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from Geneva police.
