Palmyra man charged after 911 hang-up call

A 911 hang-up call in the Town of Palmyra led deputies to a domestic investigation and an arrest.

James DeJohn, 44, of Johnson Road was arrested Jan. 3 after Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the call. Deputies said the investigation revealed a domestic incident in which DeJohn allegedly subjected the victim to unwanted physical contact. Authorities reported that DeJohn struck the victim with a glove and kneed her sides during an altercation.

The victim was able to dial 911 and hang up, prompting deputies to respond. DeJohn was charged with harassment in the second degree.

Deputies transported him to the Wayne County Jail, where he was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to Palmyra Town Court at a later date.
