Rochester’s craft beer scene took a hit this week as two longtime businesses announced permanent closures, according to Spectrum News.
Beers of the World said its Henrietta store will shut down Feb. 26, citing shifts in the economy and beer industry after more than 40 years in business. The Batavia location will stay open, while the Henrietta store cuts hours starting Jan. 4.
Fifth Frame Brewing Company also announced it will close its Irondequoit brewery near the Port of Rochester. Owners called the move unavoidable and thanked the community, urging customers to keep supporting local breweries.
