A judge has dismissed a criminal charge against a Cayuga County woman detained in a September ICE raid, citing unlawful evidence, according to Spectrum News 1.
Argentina Juarez-Lopez was arrested at the Nutrition Bar Confectioners factory in Cato and charged with illegally re-entering the U.S. But a federal judge ruled agents violated her Fourth Amendment rights, suppressing the key evidence.
Though cleared criminally, Juarez-Lopez remains in ICE custody. Four others arrested in the same raid face deportation after short sentences or time served.
