Seneca Falls ball drop will still happen, pending town board approval

A last-minute rescue could keep Seneca Falls’ New Year’s Eve ball drop alive after its longtime sponsor bowed out, according to the Finger Lakes Times. The 26-year tradition faced cancellation until Parker’s on Fall stepped in.

The downtown restaurant offered to take over the event after The Gould Hotel declined to host it this year. Organizers worked against the clock, with plans hinging on Town Board approval of a special permit just days before Dec. 31.

If approved, the ball drop will move behind Parker’s on Fall with safety plans coordinated by town officials. Organizers say preserving the tradition matters for local families and future generations.
