The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office said officers found that Eric Fritts, of Preble, had driven off the roadway and crashed into a house. Deputies allege Fritts was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Fritts was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and several additional traffic violations.

He was taken to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing, then arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process. Fritts was released on his own recognizance.

Fritts is scheduled to appear in Town of Preble Court on Jan. 13.
