Police arrested a man after officers responded to a report of a person with a handgun on Wadsworth Street early Sunday. Police later identified the suspect as Tyler Armond Liberatore, according to the Geneva Police Department.
Officers responded to the area around 1 a.m. Investigators determined Liberatore threatened another person with a handgun while walking on the street.
Several hours later, the Geneva Police Department Detective Bureau located Liberatore at the Byrne Dairy on Border City Road. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Troopers assisted in the arrest.
Police took Liberatore into custody without incident.
Investigators determined the situation was isolated and said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
Police charged Liberatore, 29, of Geneva, with menacing in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Detectives said additional charges are expected.
Police processed Liberatore at the Geneva Police Department and transported him to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
