Instead of staying in a hospital bed, some Monroe County patients can now recover at home, according to the University of Rochester Medical Center. The new Hospital at Home program delivers hospital-level care directly to patients’ houses.
The program builds a full care setup at home. Patients get medical equipment, round-the-clock access to a care team, daily nurse visits, and telehealth check-ins with doctors. URMC also offers transportation home, therapy services, imaging, and even meal delivery if needed.
Adults 19 and older who live in Monroe County and meet safety, insurance, and caregiver requirements may qualify. URMC says patients pay no extra cost compared to an in-hospital stay.
