Santa brings joy to all ages at Clifton Springs Nursing Home

Residents and toddlers danced, sang, and laughed side by side as Santa Claus made a heartwarming holiday visit to Clifton Springs Nursing Home this week.

The special moment brought together two classes of preschoolers from Our Children’s Place and the nursing home’s residents for an intergenerational celebration full of smiles, carols, and one-on-one visits with Santa.

Children from the neighboring childcare center arrived excited to meet Santa—and quickly turned the nursing home into a festive gathering space.

They sang Christmas carols with the residents, danced around the Christmas tree, and sat with Santa for personal greetings.

Jonathan Reed, Activities Director at the nursing home, said the visit was more than just holiday fun.

“Seeing the residents’ faces light up as the children arrive is always special,” Reed said. “These kinds of visits bring warmth and connection to our residents, and they’re just as meaningful for the children. It’s a wonderful reminder that the holidays are about togetherness, no matter your age”.

Clifton Springs Nursing Home is part of Rochester Regional Health, which says it’s committed to strengthening community ties through meaningful experiences.

The Santa visit is one of many ways the facility works to make residents feel connected, valued, and uplifted—especially during the holidays.

Photos from the event show Santa chatting with residents in wheelchairs, crouching to greet children face-to-face, and posing beside a decorated tree with wide-eyed toddlers and smiling seniors alike.
