Penn Yan police issued a criminal summons after an incident involving an allegedly intoxicated man at a local store.
Police said the incident led to the arrest of Theodore L. Auld, 53, of Penn Yan. Officers allege Auld entered the store while intoxicated and subjected an employee to unwanted physical contact.
Auld was charged with second-degree harassment, a violation under New York law. Police said officers issued the summons without incident.
He is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
The charge is an accusation. Auld is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
