Penn Yan police arrested a village man following an investigation into a reported domestic disturbance.
Police said officers responded to a residence on December 15 for a physical domestic complaint. After investigating, police arrested Eric J. Sullivan, 51, of Penn Yan.
Authorities allege Sullivan punched the victim, held them to the ground, pulled out their hair, and choked them during the incident. Police charged him with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and second-degree harassment.
Sullivan was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Jail, where he was held to await CAP arraignment.
The charges are accusations. Sullivan is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
