Sodus man charged after high-BAC crash in Sodus

Deputies arrested a man following an investigation into a single-car crash that sent one person to the hospital in the Town of Sodus.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as Cody L. Anderson, 36, of Halcus Road.

Deputies responded to Halcus Road on July 28 after a report that a vehicle crashed into a neighbor’s front yard. Investigators determined Anderson operated the vehicle.

Deputies said Anderson did not have a valid driver’s license and showed signs of severe intoxication. Blood test results later showed a blood alcohol concentration of .25% at the time of the crash.

Anderson received citations for unsafe lane movement, failure to use a designated lane, unlicensed operation, and driving while intoxicated, including a charge for operating with a BAC of .18% or greater.

Deputies located Anderson at a later date during a separate incident and arrested him in connection with the crash. They transported him to the Wayne County Jail for processing.

Anderson is scheduled to appear in Sodus Town Court on Jan. 14 to answer the charges.
