Police arrested a Seneca Falls man after a late-reported domestic disturbance led to an investigation.
Joshua C. Vanderwall, 36, of Seneca Falls, was arrested December 19 by the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department. Officers said the report came in days after the incident occurred.
Police said their investigation found Vanderwall got into a physical altercation with the victim about a week earlier. During that incident, police said Vanderwall struck the victim in the face.
A child was present during the altercation and witnessed it, according to police. Officers also said a refrain-from order of protection was in effect between Vanderwall and the victim at the time.
Police charged Vanderwall with multiple offenses, including criminal contempt in the first degree, assault in the third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Officers transported Vanderwall to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center, where he awaited arraignment.
