Yates County lawmakers will wrap up the year with a special legislative meeting that includes public hearings, policy decisions, and a long list of resolutions.
The Yates County Legislature will meet Monday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held via Zoom.
The agenda opens with a public hearing on proposed modifications to Agricultural District No. 1. Legislators will consider adding eight parcels totaling 493.6 acres to the district.
Several resolutions involve agreements tied to public safety and jail operations. Lawmakers will vote on renewal agreements related to equitable sharing, expense reimbursements for the county jail’s nurse practitioner and physician, and multiple STOP-DWI service and budget approvals.
Technology and policy items also appear on the agenda. Legislators will consider adopting a countywide artificial intelligence use policy and approving purchases and contracts tied to IT services and training.
Land use and mapping work is also scheduled, including a contract related to GIS data layers for tax mapping.
Financial matters make up a significant portion of the meeting. Legislators will review 2025 budget transfers and vote on multiple resolutions to appropriate additional aid for community services, highway operations, and social services programs.
