The Canandaigua community wrapped up another strong year of giving through its annual Toys for Tots campaign.
Officers with the Canandaigua Police Department joined students and staff from Canandaigua Academy, Sen. Pam Helming, and representatives of the Marine Corps Reserves on Dec. 18 to present this year’s donations.
The presentation took place at Canandaigua Academy and marked the official handoff of the community’s 2025 Toys for Tots collection.
Police said the drive succeeded thanks to widespread community support. Students and staff at Canandaigua Academy played a major role, with coordination led by the school’s Kiwanis Key Club.
Members of the Canandaigua Police Department also contributed. The department’s Gold Badge Club and Police Benevolent Associations added about $2,000 in additional toys, pushing the collection even further.
Officials thanked everyone who donated, saying the effort will help bring holiday cheer to children in need throughout the region.
