A Perry man rushed into Rochester General Hospital during a heart attack and walked out days later to a $700 towing bill, according to News10NBC.
Salvatore Ozzimo parked near the ER entrance because chest pain left him unable to search for a spot. Doctors treated him for a heart attack, but while he recovered, his car was towed. The tow and taxi ride to retrieve it totaled more than $700.
Ozzimo said he spent weeks calling the hospital for help with the fees and only got clarity after News10NBC contacted RGH. The hospital said towing costs fall between the vehicle owner and the tow company and urged patients to alert security in emergencies.
