Two arrested after Victor TJ Maxx theft investigation

Deputies arrested two people after investigating a retail theft at a TJ Maxx store in Victor.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said deputies took a Rochester woman and another suspect into custody following a petit larceny investigation tied to a November incident at the store on Square Drive.

Investigators identified Marjorie M. Wellington, 30, of Thurston Road in Rochester, and Destiny M. Thompson, 30, of Lincoln Street, as the people involved.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation found that Wellington and Thompson worked together to select merchandise valued at $382. Deputies said they passed the point of sale without paying.

The Sheriff’s Office took both suspects into custody on Tuesday following the investigation.

Deputies issued appearance tickets charging both Wellington and Thompson with petit larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy. They are scheduled to appear in Victor Town Court at a later date.
