Deputies arrested a woman after investigators found several animals left without heat, food, or water inside a condemned home in the Town of Romulus.
Victoria Munoz, 52, of Seneca Falls, faces six counts of failure to provide proper sustenance, a Class A misdemeanor under state law. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says the arrest followed an anonymous complaint on December 7 around 7:10 p.m.
Deputies say Munoz left her residence for two days after the home was condemned, leaving two dogs and four cats locked inside. Authorities say the house had no electricity or heat, and temperatures dropped as low as 8 degrees during that time.
Deputies worked with Beverly’s Animal Shelter to remove the animals immediately. Officials reported no injuries or medical concerns involving the animals.
Munoz received an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Romulus Town Court on January 23. Beverly’s Animal Shelter assisted with the investigation.
