Investigators arrested a Rochester man after linking him to two separate retail theft cases in Ontario County.
Christian Soto-Ramirez, 35, was taken into custody without incident on December 16 after investigators tied him to a burglary and a larceny stemming from separate investigations .
Investigators say one case involved a November 30 theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods at Eastview Mall in Victor. Authorities allege Soto-Ramirez stole merchandise valued at $924.99 and left the store without paying, leading to a petit larceny charge .
A second investigation focused on a burglary at the Canandaigua Lowe’s in Hopewell, also on November 30. Deputies say Soto-Ramirez stole merchandise valued at more than $1,000 and had previously been trespassed from all Lowe’s locations. That incident resulted in a third-degree burglary charge .
Investigators located Soto-Ramirez at his workplace, where they took him into custody. Deputies transported him to the Ontario County Jail, where he was held awaiting arraignment in CAP Court .
