Police said Fiorilla unlawfully entered the residence of a village resident and intentionally stole the dog before fleeing in a vehicle. Penn Yan Police and Yates County sheriff’s deputies later located Fiorilla at her home, where she initially refused to speak with law enforcement.

Authorities said Yates County deputies later observed Fiorilla attempting to leave her residence in a vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, deputies found the stolen dog in her possession.

Police took Fiorilla into custody and turned her over to Penn Yan Police. The dog was unharmed and safely returned to its owner.

Authorities charged Fiorilla with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny. She was transported to the Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
