Canandaigua disturbance call leads to felony arrest

Police arrested a Canandaigua man after responding to a reported disturbance at a Dailey Avenue address.

Officers arrested Wayne J. Bynoe, 69, around 8:16 p.m. Nov. 28 following an investigation into the incident.

Police say Bynoe threatened to kill another person with a hammer and burn the house down. Investigators determined the other person had an active refrain-from order of protection against Bynoe.

Authorities charged Bynoe with aggravated family offense and first-degree criminal contempt. Officers transported him to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
