Three new casinos are officially coming to New York City — two in Queens and one in the Bronx — after the state Gaming Commission gave final approval Monday, according to Spectrum News.
Metropolitan Park near Citi Field, Resorts World NYC, and Bally’s in the Bronx beat out fierce competition after years of reviews, community input, and site changes. Together, the projects are expected to bring in $7 billion in gaming taxes by 2036.
Each will pay a $1.6 billion licensing fee, funding the MTA, and must hire independent monitors to ensure promises like jobs, education centers, and a Queens food hall are kept.
