Jason MacBride officially stepped into the role of Acting Ontario County District Attorney over the weekend and is already managing courtroom operations during a time of transition.
The change became effective Saturday, December 13, according to a statement from the DA’s office. MacBride will serve as acting DA through the end of the year and begin his full term on January 1.
MacBride didn’t wait to ease into the job. He has already been present in CAP Court since Saturday and is managing a full court calendar this week.
His immediate focus is keeping the office running smoothly while new attorneys go through orientation. Officials said rebuilding staff and strengthening operations remain a priority during the transition.
“I am honored to step into this role and grateful to the dedicated staff who continue to serve our community,” MacBride said in the release. “My focus is on stability, accountability, and ensuring that justice continues to be carried out fairly and effectively for the people of Ontario County”.
