The Seneca County Water and Sewer Authority Board will meet on December 18 with a full agenda, including action on an audit engagement, a self-evaluation process, and new banking arrangements.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Heroes Conference Room at the County Office Building.
Board members will consider authorizing a contract with The Bonadio Group to perform the Authority’s first official audit, covering the 2025 fiscal year. The five-year agreement proposes an initial audit fee of $5,000, with future fees ranging between $5,000 and $10,000 depending on financial activity.
Authority Counsel Michael Howard will also guide the board through its self-evaluation process, reviewing a standard checklist to be completed by members and submitted for discussion at the January meeting.
Another key item is the banking authorization resolution with Lyons National Bank. The board will formally approve the creation of financial accounts and designate key officials, including Chairperson Robert Carroll and Treasurer Gregory Keefe, to have signature authority.
Also on the agenda:
- A possible executive session related to personnel or appointments
- A regulatory update from legal counsel
- A progress update from Executive Director Dan Schmalzel
- Review of upcoming action items by consultant Matt Horn of MRB Group
The next meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2026.
