Construction on Geneva’s second Dunkin’ keeps inching forward years after it started, according to the Finger Lakes Times. City officials say delays tied to environmental contamination and stop-and-start work continue to slow the project.
The project took nearly three years just to secure Planning Board approval in March 2024. City building and zoning superintendent Neal Braman said crews halted work again earlier this year after uncovering more contamination at the Exchange and East North streets site.
Paving and underground work are finished, but construction on the building hasn’t begun. The city sold the property for $250,000 to an LLC tied to Cafua Management, a major Dunkin’ franchise operator.
