Fire crews from across Cayuga County rushed to the scene of a house fire late-Monday near the intersection of Ridge Road and Skillet Road, according to Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire.
The fire prompted a large response that included departments from Fleming, Sennett, Owasco, Throop, Union Springs, Scipio, and Auburn City Ambulance. Crews arrived to find an active working fire and immediately began an aggressive interior attack.
According to updates, all residents were safely out of the home before crews entered. Firefighters pulled multiple hose lines to fight the flames from the inside.
As the fire progressed, second-floor crews were pulled out of the structure due to safety concerns, including a collapsing chimney.
Several engines and trucks from each responding department were dispatched, and the fire scene remained active for hours as crews worked to bring the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
