Deputies arrested a man in Lyons after a foot chase and struggle during a warrant pickup.
Johnathan K. Tarver, 39, was wanted on two active bench warrants tied to earlier charges of criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration.
When deputies tried to take him into custody, Tarver ran, ignored commands, and then fought with officers, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. He now faces two new charges—another count of resisting arrest and another count of obstruction.
Deputies took him to the Wayne County Jail. He was arraigned the next morning on the original warrants and is due back in court on January 13 for the new charges.
