HS BASKETBALL REPORT: Mynderse boys survive late Waterloo rally; Gananda girls outlast Williamson/Marion

A busy Tuesday night around the Wayne-Finger Lakes delivered more than a dozen basketball matchups, including a Finger Lakes East clash in Seneca Falls, where Mynderse held off Waterloo’s fourth-quarter rally. In girls action, the most thrilling game unfolded in Wayne County, where Gananda narrowly topped Williamson/Marion after a chaotic finish.

Tied at 41 entering the final 90 seconds, the Blue Panthers grabbed the lead when Avery Hoffman scored on a layup with 42 seconds to go. Georgie Alexander drew a foul and buried both free throws to tie it again for the Marauders with 30 seconds left. Hoffman responded with another go-ahead basket in the final seconds. Leah Buffan converted one of two free throws with 1.8 seconds remaining, and a turnover on the inbound pass ended Williamson’s hopes of setting up a game-tying three.
