A Dundee woman was arrested early Saturday morning after crashing her vehicle off Welker Road in the town of Barrington.
Deputies with the Yates County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 6:41 a.m. on December 6, 2025, for a report of a one-car crash. They found a gray Jeep with visible damage stuck in an embankment. The driver, identified as 61-year-old Sonya Conover, was found nearby and showed signs of intoxication.
Deputies conducted a series of field sobriety tests and then transported Conover to the Yates County Jail for a chemical breath test. She was later released with appearance tickets.
Conover is charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated, along with violations for failure to keep right and moving from a lane unsafely. She is scheduled to appear in Barrington Town Court at a later date.
